My work is a manifestation of my childhood fantasies, my lifetime obsession with nautical mythologies, and the unknown mysteries of the Sea. The objects I create embody an underwater fairytale of my own creation. It is a decadent display of escapism, lavishly ornamented in delicious colors and textures.
The veiled moral lessons in fairytales have led me to build the
content of my work around the allegorical nature of childhood tales.
Hidden underneath the rhinestone encrusted glass cakes and sparkling
crown jewels, lurks a tale of decay. Hedonism easily transitions into
degradation. I’m enamored with the breaking point at which
extravagance becomes excess.
